Information Sent Directly
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies the result function. Our servers do not retain a copy of that search. A message sent to us contains only the information included in the message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine hosting logs can include an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. Those records are reviewed in aggregate to operate and improve the service. Cookies or similar tools may support basic measurement and, where used, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the service, resolve technical issues, measure overall traffic, and improve content. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual visitor profiles are not created.
External Services and Links
Links can lead to county or state portals, library collections, archives, and outside search functions. Each destination controls the information submitted there under its own privacy terms. That includes sponsored search results supplied by another company.
Who May Process Data
Hosting and support providers process technical logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it and otherwise only as needed to provide the service.
Security Practices
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described above. Because there are no accounts, the service does not hold a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect a minor’s personal information. If a minor has sent information, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Information Choices
Depending on a visitor’s location, privacy law may provide rights to ask for access, correction, or deletion of information a service keeps. Research for New York identified General Business Law §899-aa as a data-security and breach-notice rule, not a broad removal right for publicly available government records. Because this service keeps little information, requests usually concern a contact message or a technical log. Use the Contact page to ask. A record held by a New York state, county, town, court, or library custodian must be addressed to that custodian.
Policy Changes
Changes to this policy will appear here. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
